Ironic: the new railroad-themed "Sunshine Flyer" shuttle service STILL ignores the train station

I've always found it highly discriminatory that the "Disney's Magical Express" shuttle service (and Mears in general) didn't service passengers arriving by rail (especially given Walt's well-known love of railroads).

People arriving by rail, at least as of my own most recent arrival at the Orlando station, have two realistic choices for getting the remaining 20-odd miles to, say, the All-Star Music, with luggage and without a rental vehicle: either take a cab (expensive), or take whatever shuttle service does serve the station (I think the one I took was a Gray Line affiliate), which is likely to take forever, because it'll service everything else first (including, if I remember right, a passenger staying at a youth hostel, when I was there).

Likewise, SunRail doesn't go any closer than 16 miles from WDW.

And it's ironic, with the buses wrapped in pictures of vintage railroad motive power and rolling stock, that this new service continues that injustice. For pity's sake, enough is enough! SOMEBODY do something about it!

The DME (Disney Magical Express) is actually disappearing totally from service at the end of the year. All Disney guests will need to determine their most cost effective mode of transportation to/from the airport (or rail station) on their own. When we stayed at The Swan (technically NOT a Disney property, but on the Boardwalk) my family (there's 3 of us) utilized LYFT. It was cost effective, and it's a direct trip. Shared shuttle services are still difficult to come by due to Covid, but they are definitely cheaper to use.

I don't do Uber or Lyft. They take food out of the mouths of medallion taxi drivers and their families, AND they discriminate against those who do not choose to carry smartphones.

And I thought DME had already been completely and permanently shut down.

I believe DME stops running January 2022.
