I just saw the encore presentation of the latest "Live In Front of a Studio Audience" special, the one with The Facts of Life and Diff'rent Strokes. No question, the actress they got for Mrs. Garrett was able to do a dead-on Charlotte Ray. And no question that John Lithgow's Drummond is eerily like Conrad Bain's. But am I the only one who thinks that a Lisa Welchel at 58 looks and sounds more like Lisa Welchel in her teens and early twenties than Jennifer Aniston does? And that they should've just had Ms. Welchel reprise the role she created? (I'm thinking that Ms. Welchel must have one of those funny paintings stashed in her attic. You know, the kind Oscar Wilde wrote about? I sure know I don't look [or feel] like I did in my teens and early twenties.)
