Just heard about it today (see the LP story here). Given that I will always miss GMR in WDW-Studios (and when DCA was still being built, I was hoping "SuperStar Limo" would be similar to GMR, and not the "SuperStar Lemon" it turned out to be, that only a bunch of Monsters could redeem), I'd gone out of my way to ignore "Runaway Railway" coverage. Obviously, that was a mistake. I just took a quick look at a ride-through video that included the pre-show and queue, and found that it is a worthy successor to GMR (and appears to use the same ride system as both GMR and Ellen). Not that I won't still miss GMR. But I'm glad to see (1) that my favorite ride system apparently hasn't gone extinct, (2) that a West Coast version is in the works, and (3) there's going to be a new attraction at DL that actually interests me*. _____ *RotR doesn't really interest me. Neither does the new SW-themed hotel at WDW. My taste in "immersive experiences" runs more towards spending a few days at Colonial Williamsburg, with my last night or two in a Colonial House accommodation. Or booking my WDW stay at the All Star Music.
When we got to a Park it is Disneyland. But with Covid and all it has been over two years. We certainly hope to get there again but probably not until some of our grandchildren go. Prices and the ongoing loss of Magic makes the temptation much less I am sad to say.
Well we just got a note from dear friends whom we met through LP years ago. They invited us to join them at Disneyland. And we said yes, definitely. I am still flabbergasted that we actually have a count down!!!!!! Only ...WAIT FOR IT........................................... .......................................................................... 308 DAYS
OOOH! Who are these long lost Laughing placers. Also what happened here, did people pick Trump sides or something? Is that why everyone disappeared?
It started before that. Lots of personal problems and then Facebook. By the time we actually got to discussing T...p in WE there was only one supporter still here. Best times ever in WE. Check your conversations. (Formerly known as PM's)
As much as I hated to see GMR close, we went on Runaway Railway last summer and it was really fun! And I suppose I can understand why the move was made. Huge lines for RR, while last time we went on GMR it was very empty. I am glad to see there are still a few posts here. I loved when LaughingPlace was THE place to go for DL advice and updates, from the best tower at the DLH to learning about the balcony seating for Fantasmic!.
