Well, last night was the first episode of Jeopardy! with Ken Jennings guest hosting.

Dr. Bialik was one of my favorites, to date. So was Buzzy. Ms. Guthrie did OK, but doesn't want the job. Dr. Gupta has done way better than Dr. Oz (not that a trained chimpanzee wouldn't be an improvement over Dr. Oz -- what were they thinking?!?).

Looking forward to LeVar Burton, although I'm not sure why he wants the job on a permanent basis, given that between Roots, ST:TNG, and Reading Rainbow, he could probably work as much or as little as he wants to, both stage and screen, for the rest of his life, and that he's already two decades older than Trebek was when he started hosting Jeopardy.

I wouldn't mind Dr. Bialik in there full time.
    Full agreement on Dr? Oz.
We probably won't have a chance to see any Jeopardy! until we get home.

I was very disappointed that George only did one week. We only got to see 3 of them.
You better have gotten Huey, Dewey and Louie!;)
I could not believe that three *geniuses* did not know Wilber!!

I so wanted LeVar Burton to do well. Between his bursts of excessive enthusiasm and his frequently slow reaction time, watching his episodes could be downright painful at times.

I fail to understand all the vitriol being spewed over Dr. Bialik having three more weeks. She's not running for a legislative seat, and half the complaints against her are for things that would also disqualify an awful lot of Roman Catholics, Southern Baptists, Pentecostals, and Muslims (and most of the others would also require Jeopardy to expel some of its long-time advertisers).

Reminds me of how Scientific American overreacted to some of Forrest Mims' beliefs. He's still one of the best technical writers alive, and is one of the few people who can explain the physics of semiconductors in a manner that I'm capable of comprehending.

I just found out that Ken Jennings has a few skeletons of his own, most notably some tweets that have come back to haunt him.

But who doesn't have things they've said or done that they later regret? (With the exceptions of Jesus, who probably didn't have any reason to regret anything he said or did, and Donald Trump, who takes pride in things he ought to regret.)

I didn't know that much about it so I looked it up. I have to say I agree with her on most of it. She is not a crazy conspiracy theorist. She knows what she is talking about.
Just how sensitive do we need to be? There are many things that offend me and nobody even cares.

Well, Mike Richards is now fired completely. And James Holzhauer, the all-time #3 winner, is celebrating.

    I must admit I didn't expect that.
I guess people were really upset over LaVar Burton.

Hope you come back around hb...
Seems like Jeopardy! may make it after all. I was a bit concerned for a while there.
Have loved the time with Dr. Bialik and Ken Jennings.

I had totally forgotten this thread.
All I have to add at this time is that we have gotten used to and totally accept Ken as host.
However, there are still evenings when I hear, "and now the host of Jeopardy!..." I expect Alex Trebek and get a little sting.

Hmm. I occasionally have that reaction. Then again, some 30-odd years ago, I was still expecting Don Pardo to be announcing Art Fleming.

I think Ken J has really settled in to the job and is doing it with humor and charm to spare.

Agreed. No Jeopardy host has ever been perfect, not Ken, not Alex, and not Art Fleming. But Ken is certainly a worthy successor to both of his predecessors.

    I agree. He's very personable.
We've been enjoying the ToC. Even though we were rooting for the surfer dude from Honolulu
