Clever left the building a long long long time ago.

So is this it for Pixar? Seems like it to me.

    Cars, 2, not so much.

I have high hopes for Monsters University and Finding Dory.

I still have faith in Pixar to produce great films with Inside Out, The Good Dinosaur, and the Dia De Los Muertos movie.

Wonder how many levels of management that had to go through.

On the bright side, at least it's not 'Finding Nemo 2'

Imagine if they were giving 'Jaws' a title in this day and age. It would be decided based on surveys and market research, that 'The Attack of the Great White Shark' would make better sense as the title of the movie.

    Or maybe just 'Shark Attack'

    :/

I'll reserve judgement on Monsters University, but the trailers don't have me hooked. I absolutely LOVED Toy Story 2 and 3 though, so there is still hope for me. And, PIXAR's sequelitis isn't quite as bad as Dreamworks or Blue Sky. We've even had sequels to underdogs like Open Season and Hoodwinked. So, I'm not quite willing to give up on PIXAR quite yet.

No, Disney would've gone with Jaws.

See also: Tangled, Frozen, Brave, and also Dopey, Sneezy, Happy and Grumpy.

I wasn't kidding about the sequel to Rio. It's on the way.

Bob Iger's modus operandi strikes again, giving us yet another sequel that really doesn't need to be made. It's nice that he announced his retirement years in advance, so that he could reap the cash benefits of the sequels without having to deal with the longterm damage to the brand.

I would rather listen to Marlin for 90 minutes than Dory. While Dory is a really fun character, she works great in small doses. I'm not sure if I could deal with 90 minutes of Ellen's trademark rambling and/or whale noises, most of which would be done in monologue since she's apparently lost by herself in the ocean.

It seems the other studios are releasing several sequels for their features, no matter how good they were. At least Pixar is taking its time and not rushing out a sequel or spinoff for every character.

A great movie. There are other books in the series, I just have no idea how they tie into the movie or if the sequel is based on them.

I don't know if any of the episodes of that series use plot points from the books or not though. It's actually not a bad series, and there's an overall story arc that connects all of the episodes together. So, something happening in one affects things in later episodes. Certainly better than the Penguins of Madagascar series...speaking of them, they are getting a theatrical movie too, as if we hadn't seen enough of the Madagascar crew...

I will go on a murderous rampage if they have a whale-speak joke in this movie. Murderous, I tell ya.

Well yeah. It used to be that Disney and Pixar were the ones that DIDN'T do that. Thems was the days.
