Got a year's worth of people watching done in a weekend, Got to go to some terrific panels, including Disney's Bolt and D/Pixar's Up, one for The Office, attended a sneak preview screening of "The Rocker" with Rainn Wilson in attendance and taking questions from the audience and signing (the kids got their CC exclusive Dwight bobble heads signed, also got to hang out (briefly) with both Richard Dreyfuss and Robert Culp. Got some neat stuff to take home and learned that the only way to get to the panel you want is to be willing to sit through 2 earlier panels (so I got to learn about "Ben 10" and "The Sarah Conner Chronicles" while waiting for "The Office)

It was a pretty amazing weekend, and astounding that the whole thing started out in someone's basement 39 years ago. We've already bought our tickets for next year (and got $10 off of each one for doing it on-site)

    Did any other LP'rs go?

I think, though, they need to rename the whole event. I mean, if it's Comic-Con, why are they covering stuff like "Bolt" and "The Office"?

Anyway the result was I arrived at 11:05, just in time to miss the panel I really wanted to see, most of the cool free stuff (that I was aware of), and the time period in the morning when it's possible to actually move in the ballroom.

So did I have any fun? Well, I met Chris Saunders and got his Kiskaloo book http://www.kiskaloo.com , I met a slew of Disney animators and got their Rocket Johnson artbook http://www.whoisrocketjohnson.com/ , saw an awful lot of people in craaaaazy costumes (including some very attractive young ladi--- uh, women), caught up with several good friends I hadn't seen in awhile, saw Lou Ferrigno, and just generally had a better time than any one person should have in 3 1/2 hours.

Why would anybody want to miss this thing?

We heard about that wreck on the 5 on Thursday - what a nightmare. We came down Friday after the kids got out of their summer classes and had pretty smooth sailing.

He bought a $1500 framed and matted original pencil drawing of Chernabog from "Fantasia" (he also has the Fantasia lawn/garden statues; the Chernabog statue is next to a growing aloe vera plant, lol) that he said he'll bring on Wednesday. This will be good because I haven't been to the mailroom yet, lol.
