I'm far more surprised by this than by MJ's passing. How very sad. He was 50 years old, too.

His wife says he went to sleep complaining that he didn't feel well. He never woke up. I wonder if this is another Natasha Richardson situation - a relatively minor bump on the head ends up being hemorrhaging in the brain. It it turns out that way, ERs are going to be flooded with people who have minor head injuries, convinced they'll be next.

Better safe than sorry. If something heavy lands on your noodle, or you're hit by a fast flying object like a baseball, and you have questionable symptoms like nausea, dizziness, or blurred/double vision, it needs to be checked out. CAT scans are fast and relatively inexpensive these days; they can locate even the smallest of cerebral blood leakage before it's too late. (Mays probably attributed the "not feeling well" to exhaustion from traveling or coming down with a bug.)

I predict this will be the determined cause of death in the coroner's report. The sad thing is, his death was most likely preventable.

I've always muted the TV when this guy came on. So, I'm not going to miss him...but I'm sorry for his family.
