I thought it was very cute, very colorful, very corney, and very Whimsical! Everything from the little parking lot outlines on the pavment to the "Dino Discounts" buttons which the Cast Members wear, to the atmosphrere music, were cute! The whole area is Viberant and colorful, just like Discovery Island, and adds a splash of color to the very dull Dinoland USA. Primevil Whirl was a hoot, with all the twists and turns and colorful sets and props, and Tricerotops Spin was very fun, relaxing, enjoyable, and well...cute! Many people complain that it looks like a tacky roadside parking lot carnival, and well... it does! Disney set out to design something corney which you could find lying anywhere out in Middle America, and I think they did a great job! It just goes to show that Disney can theme ANYTHING, from a small town next to Mt. Everest in the Himilayas, to a cheesy small town carnival in middle-America, Disney really knows how to theme! The area looks and feels just like a real carnival, but without the trash, filth, gum, dirt, vomit, or wreaking stench of Fried food in the Air! My only complaint is the Charge for playing the Carival Games. I think the games should be used only as an extention of the themeing, and should be free to play! So I don't see what all the negative fuss is about, am I the only person who likes this area of Animal Kingdom?

We rode a "wild mouse" type roller coaster at Dorney Park here in PA, and I didn't like it. I'd much rather a nice, smooth steel coaster like Millenium Force at Cedar Point.

While I haven't seen the area in person, I have ridden Mulholland Madness at Disney's California Adventure, which is the same ride as Primeval Whirl at Animal Kingdom, but with a different theme. Many people complain about it too (and Paradise Pier) for the same reasons. While I think Mulholland Madness is fun, it's obvious Disney took the low-road on theming.

Mullholland Madness is a regular Mad Mouse coaster, while Primeval Whirl has a different track layout and completley different coaster cars, which spin around. It's also much better themed than MM at DCA.

You tell me what the better deal is... a ride like Primeval Whirl probably costing under 3 million that virtually everyone who goes on it thinks is a blast; or a 100 million ride like Mission Space that many people won't even try to ride? Fun is fun. No matter what it cost.

I really like DCA, but in my opinion where they went wrong with Paradise Pier was not committing to the theme. They kind of went half way... almost as if they were afraid people wouldn't like it. To make a theme like that (or Dinorama) work you need to be willing to go all the way with it. They did that with Dinorama, and it works.

Traditional quality or not?! I don't think that's cool. I can see this area is a bit more palatable ... because the rest of DAK was concieved with a better set of standards than DCA & WDSP.
