I just thought it was awsome because that's also the name of the attraction at DisneySea "Temple of the Crystal Skull"...I can't wait to see what hidden stuff we'll now see in that attraction. I plan to go see the movie, and then hit DisneySea the day after to ride Indy 3-4 times!

Could an American version of the "Temple of the Crystal Skull" ride be in the future? (Probably with a slight name change to "Kingdom".)

Originally Posted By Mr X **Isn't the 'Indiana Jones' ride at TDS essentially the same ride as at Disneyland? Or have I dared to suggest something blasphemous.** INFIDEL!! No, you're right. They are very similar but NOT identical...there are two very significant differences in that there's a sort of "waterspout" effect in Tokyo where it's fire in Anaheim (I prefer the fire, actually), plus this sort of "god idol" thing that yells at you. As far as those two things go, I wonder if they might play into the movie and, if so, that'll make the ride even neater to me. Also, bearing the same name after all, there's always the possibility that they'll go in and change the Tokyo attraction more, which would be neat since the more different it is from California the better (for those of us who go to both parks, anyway).
Originally Posted By JeffG >> "I still can't figure out why Florida would put in the 'Indiana Jones Adventure' type ride, when 'Dinosaur' is EXACTLY the same track layout." << They aren't the exact same track layout. The two attractions use the same ride mechanism, of course, but they are pretty radically different attractions. I don't see where "Indiana Jones Adventure" and "Dinosaur" would be substantially more redundant than any other cases where multiple rides use similar ride system. By that logic, why have all three "Small World", "Pirates" and the Epcot Mexican Pavilion ride? How about all those redundant Fantasyland dark rides? -Jeff

You have to be pretty familiar with one of the layouts before you try to figure out where you are on the other. The easy spot to find is the bridge, which is a long, straight section. From there, you can pretty much get the rest based on the feeling of it. As for Temple of the Forbidden Eye and Temple of the Crystal Skull being the same, they are very similar. Where DL's has a southeastern Asian influence, TDS's has an ancient Mexican feel to it. It's sort of a background thing that you don't conciously notice, but it makes a pretty big difference all together. Also, there didn't seem to be as much focus on the temple in TDS being in ruins like in DL (it may be the same reason that there aren't the big lightning strikes on TOT-culture differences), and it's missing a lot of the skelletons and, ironically enough, skulls that seem to be everywhere in DL. Also, DL's is more warm red/orange tones, where TDS's is cool green/blues. There isn't really one thing that you can pick out as being very different than the other (perhaps the vortex instead of fire), but they definately each have a distinct feeling.

And even if they do use the exact same layout, how many guests are going to notice this anyway? Both Body Wars and Star Tours used the exact same cabins (minus REX in Star Tours). Of course, who knows, maybe a totally different ride system could be used if they were to build another Indy attraction at the Studios! We'll just have to wait and see...
