I would like to offer to do this for her rather than have her resort to hiring a plumber to do this.

My question to you is: how feasible is this? Can an average person install such a device with a minimal amount of cursing? Anyone with experience on these puppies?

Also are you going with a Batch Feed or continuous garburator? Batch Feed's are easy to install.

Also how comfortable are you installing a light fixture? If you're comfortable with that you should be fine installing a batch feed garburator.
