The fun of Lost Continent was (like the pre-cartoon/movie tie-in "lands" at DL) was that the theme transcended the moment. Anyone who loves cowboy stuff could have been a fan of Frontierland. You didn't have to like a specific cowboy movie. Likewise, all D&D geeks, LOTR fans, Potter nuts, Magic the Gathering Players, World of Warcraft afficionados, etc. could find something in Lost Continent that realized their fantasy (perhaps even create new ones?). I'm sure Potter will be spectacular... but I'll have a soft spot for the island that invited us to discover new adventures, not rehash an existing one.
