The mayor here in London wants to build an HP theme park to compete with the one in Orlando (No chance by the way although you can visit the original sets for Hogwarts here). Thrills appeal to tweens and some others but Disney still has the atmosphere and the mix of thrills and experiences to make a 9 hour flight worth it. Universal appeals more to the kids I teach.

I think people visiting universal want more than anything to have the opportunity to relate to the characters in the books/movies. Butter beer being an example. People who follow the franchise see the characters drinking butter beer at hogwarts and want to say for themselves that they had it while visiting "hogwarts"

And as one blogger wrote about Forbidden Journey: "Forbidden Journey doesn’t break new ground so much as smash the old measuring devices to smithereens and call it a day, bellowing to the bare sky its superiority."
