Other memories include being upset I didn't get to go on Splash, as I was too short, being REALLY freaked out by SWSA, and laughing at the Country Bear Jamboree. In EPCOT, I remember being in Horizon's omnisperes and being surrounded by imagery.... remember IllumiNations and having to cover my ears... remember Journey into Imagination and seeing Figment floating above the ride car.

I remember the map and I bought some WDW merchandise...that I still have. My first trip to the actual resort was six months after it opened. I remember riding the monorail to the MK and seeing the castle in the distance...amazing. I remember the crowds. I remember standing on long lines for Country Bear Jamboree, Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion and a one hour wait for the...wait for it...Hall of Presidents.

I was taken aback at the size the lobby and later seeing the monorail go through the hotel. I had just turned 6, so that really blew my mind at the time! My mother told me she and my step-father paid $79/night for a room there. Wow.

Much of my first memories are of Epcot because it was only MK and EPCOT Center back in the mid-80s. We didn't spend much time at all in MK because we figured we'd picture much seen it already due to regular visits to Disneyland. (It was much, much later when I would come to really explore MK, to compare and contrast and now visit it about as regularly as I do the other parks.) Figment was the favorite attraction, and we also spent lots and lots of time in the imagination workshop.
