I am planning my first visit to Disneyland Paris for sometime in late November or early December. Based on what I have read, I think I'll get a decent overview of the two parks in two-and-a-half days, assuming I visit on weekdays, but I'd like to get everyone's perspective on that.

    Thanks,

any other questions, let us know.

Is it buffet style and if yes then how vast are the selections? Are there choices of entres? Is bottomless soda available? Are there different prices for different seatings based on show visibility? Tables, booths or benches?Do I sit with people outside my party?

Is every show basically the same or do they have different nights/seasons devoted to different themes?

Do disney charactors make any appearances or are they the star of the show?

Is there mandatory audience participation(I hate participation) or any interaction?

How long is the show and approx. how many guests per sitdown?

    Get on it!!

    Thanks gang.

Tickets are one price, 59 euro, so about $100. And where you sit is first come first serve. As you go through the turnstyles in a western town style set, they give you astraw cowboy hat with different color bands - blue moon, red rock, gold star, and green valley, yep, you guessed it, the are the ranch names and determine where you sit. The earlier you arrive, the closer to the action you will be seated.

There is a photo spot, often with either a western disney character - have had pluto and gofy in cowboy hats and vests, or saloon minnie, or real native american indians, the selection in the past has varied. Then into a huge saloon bar. While you wait to be seated you can have a drink (at additional cost) shop in the giftshop, or watch the preshow - in the past me have sen magic by a medicine man, a drunk juggling saloon girl, cancan, native american dances, the preshow has been different everytime me have gone.

Then the band come out ad play some country numbers and teach you the show's theme song "Yall Come". They then call you into the arena, where you are seating along long bench seats, so yes, there are srangers to your right or left unless you are on the end. Every seat has a great view.

For food, they do keep dumbing down the menu. It starts with trailbreads (one o the very few places you can get corn bread in Europe) and cattlemen's chilli. The main course used to be roast chicken, BBQ ribs, BBQ sausage, yukon potatoes, and corn on the cob. I understand now they have kebabs on skewers instead. Desert is apple cobbler and an amazing vanilla bean icecream. Folowed by coffee and chocolates. The bring beer and coke around (about 2 or 3 refills) during the performance. The food is not bad, but it's not fine dining either. And you do eat in the dark as a lot of the action is taking place.

The show is an acurate representation 1.5 hour spectacle of Buffalo Bill,s WIld West show that came over 100 years ago. It has ntive american dances, horse riding stunts and real buffalo! There is a french impressario that presents, but the majority of the show is in english with a little french spoken badly by the american cast (on purpose to recreate the real show). Then there is some live music and a recreation of life on the trail as you have the entrees. After that0 it's rodeo games where you root for your ranch. Great fun led by the rodeo clowns. Then everyone gets involved in the medicine ball game to pass the ball along the tables and the winning ranch gets 2 guests to take part in the finale including stage coaches and great stunts. Then the heart wrenching ending that warms the heart and creates the warm fuzzies. You then leave we used to then go line dancing at Billy Bobs.

The show is Disney at it's best. We have seen a number of these sorts of shows over the years and to me this one is the best, and my favorite attraction in all of DLP.

    Hope that helps.

Just about everyone gives it a huge thumbs up, a can't miss--- arguably the single biggest highlight on property but I really am no fan of interaction and audience participation/sing alongs in attractions be it rides, regular shows or dinner shows. And western themes(cowboys, horses and wagons, dusty trails, rodeos etc.)generally don't interest me much either as well as sitting on benches in the dark trying to eat. And is there a lot of dust in the air from horses and wagons running around---I assume the show floor is dirt, right?

***But in all fairness to western themes I superduper loved what Disneyland Paris did with Frontierland with BTMRR and especially Fant. Manor***

I really do value your opinion dave (and you too u k fan) and you tout that dinner show in the same way you do about EPCOT, Animal Kingdom and Dl resort.

    So what should I do?

Also, I love interactive experiences, a stint in the UK national youth theatre has probably done that. Loved it when Sarah and I participated in the Luau at WDW, he involvement in the old Variety show at the Golden Horseshoe, and Mikey as a Jedi in Jedi Academy, along as my stint as AL in the Home Improvements bit in the old MGM tour are some of my personal Disney highlights. So our tastes in some regard are very different.

However, the production values of this, seeing real buffalo, native american dances, and a reconstruction of the original show is very special to me. As an American, nee a Californian immigrant in Europe, this show speaks to ME on a personal level. And in terms of quality, it is better than the Luau, Hoop Dee Doo and non Disney offerings such as Medieval Times, Pirates, Dixie Stampede etc.

So it is difficult. One man's heaven can be another man's hell.

Do you like the biergarten at WDW, or the Luau, or Hoop Dee Doo? what about the Golden Horseshoe Review? Or what about the Wild Wild Wild West stuntshow that used to play at Universal Studios? Or what about a rodeo? If any of those are answered as yes, then you may enjoy it. But it is not cheap.

I have probably made it even harder now??!!

FWIW, I'm not much of an audience participator either (though I've been making efforts to get better) and I would mark the show 7 out of 10.

I don't know if you guys have noodle bars nearby, but they're not my idea of a fun night out. Y'know where you sit canteen style, but at Bill's everyone is facing the same way and it's dimly lit through most of the show so past a quick hello as you are seated there won't be many opportunities to have to converse with strangers.

Alternatively, you could just take Dave and I!!!

,"the production values of this, seeing real buffalo, native american dances"

That sounds cool enough and I have never seen Golden Horseshoe--- just might be the only thing I have not seen at DL resort.

"it is better than the Luau, Hoop Dee Doo and non Disney offerings such as Medieval Times, Pirates, Dixie Stampede etc."

I have never seen any of those either.

"do you like the biergarten at WDW,"

Actually, I do. I hate the food but love the ambiance of the sets, and energy in that place. That is why I get a beer and kick back but never ever eat the food(I can't stand German food).

"Wild Wild Wild West stuntshow that used to play at Universal Studios"

Yes, I saw it years upon years ago---- I was too young to remember much. The only thing that I remember was some guy falling in quick sand.

I guess I should do Bills because it sounds like a big budget, memorable production.
    Thanks for the help dave!

Go for it Barboy, at least you will know for sure then. Sounds like you will be cool with it. To be honest, the only thing you have to do is pass a big ball from the person on one side of you to the other.

Personally I have appeared as a guest member of the cast in this and loved it. And being so near Annie Oakley!!!
