The area of TDL that copies New Orleans Square serves as a cool but subtle transition between World Bazaar and the Caribbean portion of TDL's Adventureland area. I do not think that the imagineers intended TDL's adventureland to be just a jungle but a cornucopia of several exotic themes: the vibriant feel of New Orleans, the laid back caribbean mood, and the feel of a tropical jungle.
