Skully, I doubt if the family of the dead Thunder Mountain rider (or the family of the injured folks as well) would be quick to call theme park rides "safe". BUT, the are pretty safe, in general. I believe that much. This situation just sounds like someone who suffered a heart attack at a young age. Perhaps the excitement or fear of riding the coaster proved to be too much, but I'd think that it's more likely that person had a heart problem, and it was their time to leave. I don't mean to sound callous, and I hope I don't. It's ALWAYS a sad thing when someone dies, especially at an early age, and I feel for their families. BUT, to say something like Samatha did in post 2 about "having second thoughts about riding" is totally off base. If your friend had a heart attack on a bus, would you have second thoughts about riding a bus?
