The Sunrise show just said the Us Consulate has been getting some very upset Aussie's in America, phoning in asking for some answers on these reports, as Vegemite is a national food here and the Aussie's NEED their Vegemite on toast! LOL

    Does anyone have any answers??

They have Marmite in the Uk and that's what I gre up with but Vegemite is different and the taste is much stronger.

I can't find any definitive sources one way or the other, but it looks like it may be banned. There is already a save Vegemite petition website.

    <a href="http://www.savevegemite.com/" target="_blank">http://www.savevegemite.com/</a>

which says, "The U.S. has started enforcing a ban on Vegemite because of the inclusion of folate which the FDA states can only be included in breads and cereals."

    That's pretty crazy!

You know I just realised this Ban, must have been going on for a while because last LPWB I sent a parcel to the USA for all the bashers, with some chocolates and some Vegemite tubes in it and the parcel was returned to me with a US quaratine stamp as undeliverable.
I assumed it was the choclates in the parcel but maybe it was the Vegemite??

You'll just have to come down under and try it! I'm sure it tastes better when in Australia too. Like Guinness, which should only drink in Dublin.

But seriously, I would try Vegimite in an instant.

Point in fact, we have some great friends from South Africa. She prepared for us Ox Tail. OMG Talk about awesome, it is one of my favorite dishes I have ever had in the enitre of my life. I love to try new food !

Also, anyone able to get Dorothy Lynch salad dressing? We can't get it down here in Atlanta, and I SO miss it.
