The pool is nothing to write home about, but I don't use it so that doesn't matter to me. Parking can be tight, but I've always found a place. http://albums.photo.epson.com/ j/ViewPhoto?u=4208073&a=31218158&p=67945849 Last April, I stayed at Raffels, which is further down Harbor. We drove, but it is also on the ART system. I'm sorry I didn't get pictures of the hotel. Parking is VERY limited at the hotel, but they are fine with letting you add your car to the end of a row, etc. The rooms were nice sized, sinks outside the bathroom, and pretty soundproof. We never heard our friend's little one have her melt down in the room next door, LOL! My favorite is always going to be Embassy Suites - Disneyland South, on Harbor. It's been a little more expensive this year ($159 last trip). But for that price, you get a true 2-room suite with two beds in the bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room. I know the sofa mattress's are new because the one for our room was waiting for us to check out, LOL. Also, you get 2 hours of complimentary cocktails in the evening and a full cooked to order breakfast every morning. All rooms have a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. http://albums.photo.epson.com/ j/ViewPhoto?u=4071689&a=31004463&p=66092948 Hope that helps a little!

It seems the trick is to call direct at least 3 months in advance and ask them what discounts they offer, I have an AP, an Entertainment Card and a AAA card. They always play around with the discounts, sometimes using one card for 2 nights and maybe a different discount for another 2 nights, making sure I get the best rate possible.

Looks like there are som great choices out there (that exercise room looks really nice, though not sure when I'd have time ot use it). Pollyana, people will probsbly thnk I'm crazy, but I like the Anaheim Plaza (though it's been between 5 and 10 years since I've been there). It's very old, so there are many inconsistencies. It was originally, if I'm not mistaken, one of the major chains like the Hyatt or something (the first major chain to go in there, likely, before that it was mostly the little funky motels) about a hundred years ago when the DL Hotel was just the 2-story buildings, so it's one of the older places around. The nice thing is there is lots of grass area. We went with 2 middleschoolers who like soccer, so there was lots of room for them to run around, and in some of the rooms there is a big "dressing" area outside the bathroom so there is lots of room to get ready with some privacy (not all the rooms are the same and as I recall the first one we were in something didn't work, so we got moved; in some rooms you can open the windows and in others you can't or at least that was the case then). At that time, the pool has some very bad astroturf around it, but it was big, wet, and cool. I actually chose it after walking around and looking at all the motels closest to DL one day while DH and DS napped, when we were booked into one I would never go back to again. That's also when I saw how great HoJo's was, though pricier. (I noticed that everyone [the guests] at HoJo's was smiling, a really good sign. A lot of people go a little crazy on their vacations, but everyone there seemed relaxed. 'Course, they were probably all LP'ers, but I dodn't know that then!) But I digress - assuming it's not gone down hill, it's good for the price, but if you don't like something about your room, see if you can get it changed (though look at the room they would change you to). The staff was "eh", so you might have to be firm.
