What ride IS ripe for a CARS overlay?

    BUT ...

Somewhere I read about a CARS themed ride like the Ladybug Boogie. And I thought "Wow. What fun."

Of course there HAS TO BE rumors about Autopia being CARSified. But what other rides could, or maybe should, this happen to?

I like A Bug's Land just fine and don't need to see it gutted. (Though it is home to the hands down worst ride at any Disney park. Given a choice between Tuck and Roll's Drive Ems and a kick in the shin, I'd have to ask how hard would you kick.) But it is an intriguing idea, to turn A Bug's Land into Radiator Springs. Heimlich's Chew Chew Train is turned into a series of cars pulled along by the goofy tow truck, Tow Mater, through Route 66 desert scenery with appropriate commentary. Of course the Ladybug Boogie gets CARS rethemed. And the Drive-Ems could be rethemed as a parking lot, which is what it ends up being anyway.

I wouldn't vote for this. It's just an idea. AND it does satisfy a certain sense of justice that would require that every new Pixar attraction can only replace a Pixar attraction.

    Moving right along.

Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin. The guts of this attraction would be perfect for a CARS darkride. Again, I'm just saying it would work well. I'd vote against. I think the ride is one of those that will still be mildly popular long after the movie is forgotten. (When was the last time you saw Roger Rabbit at Disneyland? And did you miss him?)

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. Don't even think it!

Mulholland Madness. One strike against this idea - the ride is too rough for younger fans who would want to go on a CARS ride. Some would say there's a second strike - that it has nothing to do with the themed area it's in. One, since when is that an issue at DCA? Two, if the ride and a shop or two near it are re-themed to Route 66, then it simply migrates to the Golden State part of the park. If Mulholland Madness were a kids' coaster, I think this would be a really good idea.

Unless of course overlays are inherently a bad idea. Or unless the Pixarization of DCA and Disneyland is a bad idea. Or unless CARS deserves a better attraction.

So does anyone like, or dislike, any of these ideas enough to comment? Anyone else want to suggest a CARS overlay or new attraction? Or share your thoughts on the whole idea of attractions being so closely tied to new movies?

Mullholland Madness should be dismantled and mothballed as far as I'm concerned, and I certainly couldn't take another Pixar attraction in Tomorrowland (Autopia), especially another storyline that has nothing whatsoever to do with "tomorrow".

I've personally had enough of the Pixar and movie themed

stuff at DLR for a while. I would love for Disney to come up with an original premise for the next several new attractions.

Hmmm... I think all of DCA fits that description just fine. Don't need to change a thing.

On the other hand I would not want to see Cars come to Epcot's Test Track.

The second long drive would work very well, and add needed beauty to the park.

I think it has been established that Disney has at least come up with a way to place a ride like this in DCA. Now whether they do it or not is a whole different issue.

I wouldn't want a kick in the shins, personally, but I that thought is TOO funny!
