She went straight to the police station, not that that will do any good. But how horrid. Her sister was walking behind her when it must have happened too and never saw anything, it was in her shopping bag ( IE large, unzipping bag) right at the bottom, Ive been telling her for years to buy a bag that zips up, didnt remind her of that now though. So do a collecting GGGGGrrrrrr with me please. She will be famous though as all purse snatches are listed in our local newspaper each week to try to warn people to be more careful. There are about 5 a week in the town centre.

I was in line at a Taco Bell and had my purse (wallet) taken right from my closed jacket pocket. I hate thieves.

She had her bag stollen before from her house, my Dad had let the cat out and not locked the door, they were sat in the livingroom and there was a knock at the door, it was people who live on the street behind my parents, they had looked out of their bedroom window and seen someone with a baseball bat going into their back door. They came round to see if all was ok. My parents hadnt even heard anything, but her bag with keys ,money, building society books, car keys in was gone. the police found her bag in a playground a week later and there were traces of blood on it which they took for dna, but nothing hapened, they had smashed a car window with the bat on the same street as my parents house. Nice folk eh? Im just glad my parents didnt interrupt them and get hit with the bat! they said it was a young girl and boy ( about 15)

That happens allll the time here. I personally have had two experiences with this sort of thing. I got pickpocketed a long time ago. I had just gotten a new job and I still had my social security card in my wallet. (NEVER do that. lol.) They got everything but my checkbook. I thought I was going to vomit when I realized I had been pickpocketed. Man! He was good. I never suspected a thing. (Well, until I backtracked and then hindsight being 20/20 and all I knew exactly when and how it happened. Grrrr.) Anyway, I did what your mom did and cancelled everything immediately and filed a report. And that was the end of it. If they tried to use my cards, they had no success at all. I never did get anything back though. The other time we got everything back. *Someone* had left the car unlocked and the bad guys took what they believed to be DH's pocket planner (Daytimer). About a week or so later some neighborhood kids found it in the ivy about a block away. Everything was still in it. So you just never know. Good luck and don't worry about it anymore. She's done everything she can do to protect herself now, right? And all you can do is all you can do.
