Does Snow White the movie have the worst ending ever!?
How about Mr. Toad, in that one you get hit by a train and end up going to HELL! Really upbeat there. BTW I think that Toad has one of the BEST endings in a dark ride ever.
Also Malestorm, while being a bit on the short side is a very good attraction, one of EPCOT's best. The movie at the end is very well shot and edited. The sound editing is especially well done. If you don't want to watch the movie you can always leave.

The Jaws ending is pretty good, at least it's far better than the Jaws in California. And it's pretty much taken from Jaws 2. Granted, it might be better to act is if the sequels don't exist, but it was probably a lot easier to achieve than blowing the shark into pieces every few seconds.

I understand that, I just think it's not placed properly. Put it in the beginning of the ride so all of the waiting is done at once not waiting to get on, waiting to leave. I understand that you don't have to sit through the movie but oftentimes I get off the boat as soon as the door shuts and left waiting another however long, five minutes or so and in that five minutes that dock gets pretty packed with people. The town setting is really cute, but you can only look at it for so long before getting a little sick of it. I'm not tearing apart the ride but this whole topic is about ride endings and what we don't like about them...that's it, not trying to bash the maelstrom or epcot for that matter, just sticking to the topic ;)

If I'm correct, I think they have a way during the beginning film for the Living Seas to go straight to the hydrolators.

Kim, and you don't believe that people would be falling over each other to skip the movie to get to the ride -- same issue----

Of the Norway movie?? Ohh you would have made my day if this is true!! The Norway movie now is very pretty but too 80s-ish. I LOVE Mælstrøm and the whole Norway pavillion! Its actually inspired me to go to Norway myself, in December! Whoopee!

Yes that would work if you were 'captive' before the ride --

This is the whole point of why the countries support the pavilions -- by traveling there that is exactly what they want. I bet it was really nice. By the way although the movie is dated-- it is really great photography

I personally think all the films in the WS should be on an update rotation so that a film/film elements are viewed and potentially replaced at maximum every 12 years. Since there are five attractions with film (El Rio del Tiempo, Maelstrom, Reflections of China, American Adventure, Impressions de France, and O Canada), this could be an easy rotation of seriously looking at/updating ONE attraction every 2-3 years. And if one still works, swap the rotation.

That would keep things fresh, and these are, for the most part, more inexpensive (since old shots can be edited with new shots).
