While I don't condone organised crime, if movie companies want to stamp out bootlegging then it would help to have international release dates closer together. Disney is one of the worst offenders for this!!!

I'm sorry, that doesn't work for me either. "I want it earlier than it's available so it's OK to get an illegal copy". People use that same reason for justifying having bootleg DVDs in the States. They can't/won't go to a movie theatre, but they want to see a movie that's out in release now, so it's ok to buy an illegal DVD. Nope, not in my book. /cs

He is also waiting for the legal version to become available, however. (He buys every DVD Disney that Disney releases. Yeah, that means winners like "Pocahontas 2".) I have accepted SotS, however, since that may not come out in my lifetime.

Originally Posted By CrouchingTigger Seems like their marketing strategy for SotS is "let the market decide". Well, the market is deciding with or without Disney's participation. As far as "Cars" goes, I can't imagine it being so important to see now that anyone would waste time watching a second or third rate bootleg. It'll probably be out in the Fall, with all the extras. And then you can watch it on the same little screen that you're watching the bootleg on, but it'll look so much better. (You just don't get the good parts of the theater experience at home, and some of the rendering on "Cars" is spectacular.)
