The side facing Mermaid looks like it's almost ready to go (the green paint should be covered by grass shortly, like what happened on the Mermaid building), but the other side looks much less finished. I'm wondering if it will be open for my mid-January and/or late-February trips, but it's looking doubtful at this point And maybe it's just me, but the thing on the princess meet & greet sign looks like an overgrown trivet. It has some interesting things worked into it (the heart, a giant Mickey head, a seashell shape-despite no Ariel inside, etc), but overall it just looks silly and kind of gaudy to me http://www.brassgallery.com/wi...vet.html

When I was there in January (when there were construction walls everywhere, blocking some of the views), the new stuff really stood out, making the older areas seem especially outdated. It certainly doesn't help that the Fantasyland Expansion stuff is connected to two of the ugliest areas of any Disney park on the planet (TL Speedway/Teacups/Cosmic Rays area and 'old' Fantasyland)

I can see how that would happen. I haven't been to the MK in ages, but my impression when I was there that much of it looked just as it did back in the 70s when I visited as a kid. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, but WDI has a completely different approach to thematic design today than they did back then. DL has definitely kept pace with those changes a lot better than the MK has.
