For a sit down restaurant, I don't think there is a way to get the kids SIZE portions however. For walk up/fast service it's usually not a problem purchasing a kids meal at the kids meal price. We have sometimes purchased a kids meal with an additional side salad. it turns out to be much healthier as it's the only way to cut down the calories of some of those meals.
