I'll give you 1 month to make that change and poof, you are right back here today.

Around that same time, I stopped filling out college applications. I wish I hadn't let him affect me that way. But things in my life would be different and I wouldn't have my kids. I wouldn't change that for anything in the world.

I suppose my concern would be... if I went back and changed significant things from my past, would I still have met my wife and had our wonderful daughter? Also, many of the mistakes and regrets of my past I have since accepted and dealt with and they have shaped who I am now and affect much of my lifestyle and what I do in my life today. So putting those concerns aside for a minute with the premise that my family would stay the same, I will play along with this fantasy... I would go back to around 1972/73 when I was around 12 years old. I know I cant change my parents relationship, my wish would have been that they stayed together and we lived as Ozzie and Harriet or beaver Cleavers but that was beyond my control. I could however change my behavior and how I disregarded any authority back then, particularly my mom's pleas, wishes, and attempts. I would have paid more attention to school and not take off down the dangerous path that I chose at that time.
