Bottom line is, you will be able to use your battery charger; it just won't work quite as fast.

Three prong plug items are not compatible. Items requiring the Hz to operate properly (i.e. hair dryers, items with electricn motors, some clocks) will also not work properly. Most MODERN electronic's power systems are designed to be compatible with either USA or Japan's electricity. Read the label on each item you plan to plug in to see if it falls within the operating voltage(V) and frequency (Hz) of what trekkeruss posted for Japan.

It might be quadband but Japan only has 3G networks now and therefore you must have a 3G compatible handset. BlackBerrys and their like don't work at all in Japan. There isn't the infrastructure to support them or other 2G/2.5G telecoms equipment either. I actually like not having my normal communication channels open when I'm in Japan. However Disney has pool mobiles for use (darn!).

You can request to charge your battery at Camera Center in Disneyland and at Fotografica in DisneySEA without additional payment. I would like to correct a little. The line voltage and frequency in eastern area in Japan including Tokyo is 100V/50Hz. And western area is 100V/60Hz.

Modern Apple products all convert power in their adapters which make them SOOOOO handy for travel! (okay...I'm a geek)
