The week of August 30th should be fairly quiet, most kids are back in school, in past years, Disney doesn't offer things like Fireworks and Fantasmic! during the week, but might be open an extra hour or two than the normal 10 to 8 off-season hours. And more than likely Disney has already shut something down for refurb. (For example, Aladdin's last day is Sunday, August 15th).

The weekend is busy, mainly with locals and some folks on the "edge" of being a local who stay for the weekend.

Starting September 7th, you will find the park at the 10 to 8 hours, and IMHO, it is now the slowest time of the year (The period between Labor Day and the start of Halloween Time). Kids are basically just back to school, and are not given days off, as Teachers want to get the kids back in the "groove".

Now that week of September 7th, you will find some kids in the park, as that week there will be Home Schoolers who go for a "conference" and an excuse to go to Disneyland.

I dunno-this coming up school year our district is talking about not starting school until after Labor Day to cut costs.

Check and see if D23 is happening again that same time before booking a trip.
