Do you guys have ideas for fun baby shower games, or ideas on anything else we can do for the shower?

    Thanks in advance :)

A lot of people just are not into the traditional baby shower game. So I am going to make a baby shower pinata ! Who doesn't like a good pinata. I am going to fill it with things like Soothers, Bottle nipples, baby proofing gizmos and any other small baby necessities I can think of.
That was my only brilliant idea so I hope it entertains people for a while. Maybe I will reinforce the pinata so it is harder to break and takes longer =)

Try not to use sweet potato and carrot in the same game, you just can't tell em apart without a consistancy/taste test.

Each person cuts a length of yarn and whoever comes the closest wins.

Besides the ones mendioned above I've done PASS THE BABY TRAY. Put many baby items on a tray and pass it around and then the guests have a time limit on remembering what was there. It's good to leave some "essentials" off and a few odd items on. Most correct answers wins a prize.

There's also the baby name game. Either take the new baby's full name or the mom's and try to see how many words you can make. Another version is a word scramble with baby related items.

Mix them up, turn them over (on a table) and have everyone gather around to play memory. Each person picks 2 cards and tries to make a match. If the words don't match, turn then back over and let someone else guess. I usually number the back of the cards.

Anyway...the funny part is when a match is made, the person wins a candy prize that relates to the word they matched. It always gets really big laughs. Some examples of words/candy prizes:

    Conception - Skor Bar
    Umbilical Cord - Red Rope
    Daddy - Big Hunk
    Mucous Plug - Gobstopper
    Epidural - Life Saver
    Plugged Duct - Milk Dud
    Preemie - Runts
    Post-Partum Mommy - Jelly Bellys
Uterus - Wonderball (Nestle candy chocolate ball with a toy inside)
    Engorged - Mounds

    Leg crossing game:
Each party guest is given a baby diaper safety pin to wear. If that person is caught crossing ANY part of their lower body by another person, the pin is taken away by the person that caught them. The person with the most pins at the end of the night wins.

The second one is kind of "gross" but hilarious at the same time. Baby diapers are filled with mushed up and melted candy bars. 1 candy bar per diaper. The diapers are then passed around and each guest can either taste, look or smell the diapers and write their guesses about which candy bar it is on a piece of paper. The one with the highest number of correct guesses wins.

Showers can be more fun with games, but I wouldn't go into game overload. Keep it to 2 or 3 (depending on how long the shower runs) games and you should be good to go!

ummwe did one that was kinda unrelated where we had a list of about 20 items and the hostess called them out and if u had them in your purse u got a point and the person with the most wins.. some items were a lil strange (ticket stub, flashlight, a coin from another country etc)

Go to a local Sweetbay or other grocery store and buy a couple foriegn or disgusting drinks(Beverley or Moxie for example)Then you fill up baby bottles. You put people of three head to head with the drink and who ever finishes it first moves on. T=Each round is a different drink. The results are hilairous. So are the facial expressions! :)
