Even if they have special reserved seats, I can't see how it would be worth it; then again, the Studios is still lacking in actual 'ride' experiences, so I guess you won't have a ton of options.

Yah, it sounds good on paper, and there will certainly be enough first-timers who will think that you really need a FP for a parade, but anyone with half a clue what's going on will try and get around it. The system was created as a response to the management wanting it, not as sometihng that came out of the group of engineers that monitors efficiency in the parks. Trying to make it work, just because somebody high up said it work, really makes me wonder about how it will function in reality.

They then can choose a couple of C or D ticket attractions then a couple of theater shows/parade viewing attractions. Before you leave you have grabbed 5 FP's. And what it does is makes you choose to either do Soarin or Test Track whereas today people who get there early grab one and then the other a little while later. What will be interesting to see is how it affects traffic patterns in the parks. Looking at EPCOT again...you are holding a Soarin FP before you leave home but you also know that the standby line at Test Track is always long so you get into the park and head to Test Track right away before it gets too busy. The possiblity of longer standby line earlier in the day is a possible new reality. It should be interesting to watch...especially during the busiest times.
Originally Posted By FerretAfros >>The possiblity of longer standby line earlier in the day is a possible new reality.<< That is entirely possible, since people will no longer be rushing to grab a FP first thing in the morning. However, it might also encourage people to sleep in a little later, since they already have their FPs secured, so they don't need to be there first thing. Then again, the way that the system is structured, it could encourage even more people to be at the parks right at opening, since that could be your FP time. It's these huge unknowns about how your vacation will change that is really making people freak out about the system (especially since they still haven't said when it will go into action for most guests). I think this will also be one of the key differences between WDW and DL, since there's much more of an emphasis on the park openings at WDW. At DL, there's no Welcome Show, and there's rarely little more than a CM removing a rope to let guests into the rest of the park. This is partly due to the mentality of DL visitors, so that could be one of the things that the system tries to change.
