What is the best way to sell these items? We did talk to a guy we found on the internet about one item that is a rare book and he knows some potential buyers and would take it on consignment and charge a 20% broker fee. However, I am leary of sending this book to some guy we found on the internet.

Alexbook - Do you know of any good ways to sell rare books?

Another item is an old German hat.

Would e-bay be a decent option? We also contacted an auction house, but haven't heard anything back from them.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for your help.

Do y'all have any other ideas I haven't thought of?

Start the bidding at the least amount you're willing to accept, and let it rip.

You pay bit to Ebay to run it on their site, but it's easy and clean and you control it and take all the money.

eBay makes it pretty easy to determine what you item is worth. Check out the current and recent-past listings for similar items.

20% is not a bad broker fee. However, I would NEVER send merchandise to an on-line seller I didn't have a previous relationship with.

I'm sincerely sorry for you loss, TXDISNEYNERD.

But may it be as gainful for you as it should be.
