I don't know exactly where the Treehouse dock is, but I'm pretty sure it's in the "river" and not the open lake, meaning they had gone upstream into the tight river at high speed. Very bad idea.

Too bad for the lady, but really stupid on the part of the husband!

I'm really surprised this doesn't happen more often. I'm sure most of the tourist that rent these boats are not use to operating that kind of equipment.

Are we sure he didn't have some kind of closed skull brain injury?

I rent a SeaRayder almost every trip for a trip around Bay Lake and the Seven Seas Lagoon. I grew up on boats, and know how to pilot one safely. But it's really amazing to see teenage kids zipping around, turning blindly, aiming right at you and then turning at the last second, etc. As you said, it's surprising that there aren't more accidents on the Disney waters.

It was a bit unnerving but the Spirit never hit his 'channeling Shelley Winters' state and this was only for one night (after an inspection earlier that morning too)!

She could swim pretty good for a horizontally challenged girl.
