Given that the highlight of Disney's visit was the chefs got to check out the food, that seems like a stong factor. I'm also not sure how well Machu Picchu would work with a pavilion. The ones we have now are all based mainly on the country's buildings, not really the landscape or past civilizations. Yah, Ccanada has the mountains in the back, but it's a much cozier setting than what I would expect for Machu Picchu, which always seems to be grand and have sweeping vistas. I guess we'll see...

Or, as you suggested, possibly have a replica of the ancient city on a fake mountain behind the pavilion a la Canada, or even France with it's minature Eiffel Tower. Of course, I'll believe a new World Showcase country when I see it (or at least see the beginning of construction). There have been SO many proposed WS countries that never have gotten past more than some pre-poduction art and models. Sad that it's been TWENTY TWO years since Norway opened at Epcot. A new country is desparately needed for World Showcase and LONG overdue. I'm not positive, but I thought I read somewhere years ago that they planned on opening a new WS pavilion approximately every 5 years or so. Very sad, indeed....

Anyway... >Or remember the one about the new Norway movie?< That still might be in the works, but with the rate of things happening at WDW, it's probably not for a while. Maelstrom's refurb too. >>It's a Machu Picchu replica, made entirely of Disney souvenir trading pins.<< You are a little late...it's Vinylmations now!
