however i have no idea what is available between button willow and Anaheim. Nothing fancy just "safe" as we will be getting in late.

Has anyone stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Lebec?

All the Holiday Inn Expresses we have stayed at lately have either been new or refurbed are are quite nice. We have stayed a couple of times at the Best Western at the Lebec turnoff. It's pretty good, the rooms are nice, not run down at all and there is a continental breakfast with a drive thru Starbucks on the way to the freeway :) I wouldn't hesitate staying there again and we are pretty choosy. It's called the Liberty Inn. Ask for an upper floor as the cars park by the lower floors.

On the other side of the grapevine we stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Valencia. There are tons of hotel choices in Valencia/Santa Clarita just off of 5. Next there will be the Burbank area.

We decide whether we want to drive over the grapevine at night depending on the weather.

(Our daughters call it the 'horse motel'.) Their continental breakfast is pretty basic - cereal, pastries, yogurt, fruit, juice.

Valencia hotels were all booked up on our date because of a Cowboy Poetry convention......The Lebec location was fine and it was about an hours drive to Hollywood the next morning. would definately stay there again.
