What's wrong with her, and how long has she been like that?

Any word if she will float for HMH this year? She's usually stationary then, so I assume she will still be on the table, but there's always a chance, right?

At DL they still use the frontal projection system for the Floating Leota, however the new Floating Leota over at WDW uses a new internal projection, which is a lot more reliable and much better looking than the front projection. I wouldn't be surprised if they just grounded her for now so they can put in a WDW type of projection system for Leota after the Holiday overlay.

Also, the green ectoplasmic point of light is just an effect on its own with having nothing to do with the Leota projection. I'm a bit confused on how it exactly works, but I know it's a green point of light gliding behind some kind of glass that leaves a wispy trail behind.

I wish that they would put those 2 lines back in, "This one can hardly contain himself" and "She has a remarkable head for materializing the disembodied" and leave Madame Leota as the original green-faced Eleanor Audley. So what if you could hear the projector and see the projector's reflection on the crystal ball! It was 1960's technology, and they were way ahead of their time!

I'm sorry, I'm just a little cranky right now, because as I type this, THEY ARE TEARING APART OUR PRECIOUS MANSION AND PUTTING THAT HORRIBLE NIGHTMARE STUFF BACK IN! :-(...

Madame Leota is performed through the face of Imagineer Leota Toombs, with the voice dubbed by Eleanor Audley. Little Leota however, is both the face and the voice of Leota Toombs.

Well, it's sort of a big deal for us out of towners, who can seemingly only work out LA trips in the Fall. Yeah, I know, if I could manage to go at another time of year I could see the original, but due to my particular circumstances that's difficult, so I've only seen the NBC version for a long time now.

Isn't it just cool beyond belief that she happened to have THAT name? "Madame Linda" or "Madame Pat" just wouldn't have the same je ne c'est quoi, you know? "Le-o-ta" has the perfect ring.

And her last name was "Toombs?" You can't make this stuff up.

Well dont forget you're talking to another out-of-towner as well who not only lives out of state, but on a different continent for about 10 years now ;). I dont live 15 mins away from the place either, so whenever I can just get there these days, I'm happy. And sure obviously I get what you are saying. I guess for me, I wouldnt want to deprive the thousands of people who now look forward to seeing this thing every holiday vs people like us that can only go certain times of the year. I see it both ways, but I still say since this event is only up 1/4th of the year now, its better to keep it up for others. I mean, we still get a great ride regardless!
