The hotel is nice and since I got it on priceline for $45 a night it makes it even better. There is an extra $12 per day "resort" fee that covers self parking and the shuttle service. We got to Disneyland front gates around 5pm and took in all the glorious sights of Christmas decorations at DL. I love the sight of that huge Christmas tree on Main Street. It was a bit crowded, but not unmanageable. First stop was Star Tours with a 15 minute wait, and then to get fast pass for Space since the wait was 45 minutes. We ate at Pizza Port then headed to Adventure land to ride pirates and decided the wait for Haunted Mansion was too long (40 minutes) and tried Splash Mountain. The wait was 5 minutes (it was dark by now and a bit cool), but the girls LOVED it and we rode it again without getting off. We take a quick ride on Winnie the Pooh before checking back at the Mansion, now a 20 minute wait so we get in line. I love all the Nightmare before Christmas stuff on this ride, but the rest of the family wasn’t impressed. We head over to Thunder Mountain and wait about 10 minutes for a ride. The girls love this ride so we get Fast Pass for later and ride standby again. It’s starting to get busy since Fantasmic! is starting soon so we head to Indy with a 20 minute wait (we only need to ride this jerky ride once a trip) then to Jungle cruise with no wait. As we are getting off the fireworks start and we quickly head across Main Street to get to space before the crowds take over the park again. The kids want to go on Star Tours again, but we pull them past on the way to Space. The standby line is 20 minutes and we still can’t use our fast pass yet so we jump in the standby line. The girls LOVED this ride and want to go again, so we ride using Fast Pass and they love it even more. We head over to Buzz and really enjoy that, but DD7 had a hard time trying to figure out how to aim it. We go back over to Thunder Mountain to use our fast passes for it and kill some time walking around NOS. After riding Thunder one last time we head out to catch the shuttle back to the hotel and rest for a long Monday in the park. Monday, November 24, 2008 Up early and oatmeal in the hotel room we catch the 735 shuttle to DL. There are long lines at the front gates, but they moved quickly. We head to the Sub Nemo ride for first thing. We get on the first sub and all agreed that we would only ride it once this trip. The line was crazy long when we got off and the ride itself takes a while, but since we had rode so many rides the night before we weren’t really rushed to get in a bunch of rides this morning. Rode Autopia before the line was too crazy. DH took the girls to the Matterhorn while I get fast passes for space. I catch up with them one minute before they are getting seated. The CM lets me in the little gate and I get to sit with DD7 for the ride. Little jerky, but fun none the less. The girls and I rode Teacups, then we headed towards Space to use our fast passes. On the way we rode star tours again. We ride Space, then head to the train station to get off at Main Street on our way to DCA. I think my husband enjoyed the train ride more than the girls…he kept asking me if the animal part was new since he didn’t remember it from before. After a quick line to get in DCA we get fast pass for Soarin and GRR on our way to Screamin. DD7 wasn’t sure she wanted to ride it, but we talked about trying everything once before deciding you didn’t like it. DD9 was encouraging her about how much fun it would be (neither girl had been on it before). As soon as the ride took off DD9 was screaming like she was being killed. She hated the ride and kept asking DH to get her off. DD7 on the other hand LOVED it and wanted to go again. The line for Mania was Crazy long so we kept walking. Rode the Orange stinger and headed to the Mulholland Madness. It was a 20 minute standby line and we were about 30 seconds from the end of the ride when it broke down. After being stuck on the track for about 10 minutes, the Cast Members came and let us out of the carts and gave us a fast pass for any ride except Mania. We used our earlier fast passes and rode Soarin, then headed to Tower of Terror to use the fast pass we got from Mulholland break down. DD7 didn’t want to ride, so after a bit of persuading we got her in line. She didn’t realize you had a seat when the elevator ‘dropped’ she just thought you were standing in a real elevator…as if everyone would be lining up to get broken bones… So we get seated in row 6 which is actually part of the front row and the girls get a little spooked by the story, but when the ride dropped down the both started FREAKING out. DD9 almost ripped my arm off she was squeezing so tight and DD7 was looking for a way to get off the ride in mid air. They both left hysterically crying begging to never have to ride again. DH and I loved this ride and I wish we would have bought the picture. The girls were freaking out and it would have made the best conversation piece years from now. After the trauma of Tower of Terror we used our GRR fast passes and I got soaked before heading back to the hotel for some dinner and rest. I found an Albertsons on Harbor and bought some groceries for lunches and breakfast as well as the $6.99 chicken dinner deal. I returned to starving kids and we were back on the shuttle at 535. Again to DCA to ride Screaming again (DD9 tried it again, but still didn’t like it) and get fast passes for later. I rode the Maliboomer alone, whole family on Golden Zypher, then Soarin before heading to bugs land. We rode all those rides and then watched the It’s tough to be a bug show, which also freaked out DD9. Our Fast passes for Screamin were ready, but since DD9 didn’t like it DH and DD7 rode it while I stayed with DD9, then I rode with DD7 (anyone counting…she rode 4 times today and still wanted more). By now the park was almost closing so we figured this was our last chance at Toystory maina…so in line we jumped. It was still a 35 minute wait, but what a fun ride. DH beat us all and my arm hurt a little from all that action, but I would love to ride it again. Mania was much easier to aim than Buzz for DD7. DCA was closed by now and we walked out to fireworks. We decided to call it a night and headed for the shuttle. DD7 fell asleep during the drive and it was a fast sleep for all of us…me included.
