I won't quite make it because the Mark Twain is on a three month refurb covering both trips and I refuse to see Captain EO (if it comes back.) I've one or two lands to concentrate on every day with at least one day off from the plan each trip. Today's land: Main Street. There's no rush to do anything on Main Street first thing and it is quite crowded with everyone entering the park, so I actually started like I usually do at DL by heading straight to Peter Pan. I then walked onto to Splash and had my choice of seats. With the heat it would be no problem if I got soaked so I opted for the front. The log wasn't full though so I only got a little wet. After that it was time to head for Main Street. I was getting hungry so I picked up a chocolate muffin from the Jolly Holiday Bakery. I took it down to Town Square and sat on a bench and enjoyed it while watching the little kids meet characters. This is one of my favorite things to do. I was closest to Goofy and there was one family with a three month old all dressed up in a Goofy onesie and goofy hat with ears. Goofy made a big deal over him. I saw all the shows I could. I think I got every group but I can't say for sure as they are not all listed in the Times Guide. I saw two performances of the Disneyland Band, a couple of performances of the Dapper Dans, the Piano Player, the Straw Hatters, the group dressed as Firemen and the Pearlies. Ok the Pearlies technically performed just inside Fantasyland but I'm counting them for Main Street. Fantasyland already has the most attractions. I visited the Main Street Gallery and saw Mr Lincoln and rode the Omnibus. I hadn't ridden any of the Main Street Vehicles since I was a kid. I also assigned the train to Main Street. I'm not requiring a train ride in any other land that has a station. At the NOS station a Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour got in my car. I tried to eavesdrop but the guide was just chatting while they were on the train. They got off in Tommorrowland. I was sitting next to a man and his son who I think had Cerebral Palsy. The son was very tired and the dad told me he'd been so exited the night before that he'd been up since one o'clock. Around Two I took a break and headed to Downtown Disney for some shopping and an ice cream lunch at Haagen Daas. Every trip I get a matching Mickey and Minnie and I found the best ones ever. They're dressed as Mary Poppins and Bert in their Jolly Holiday costumes. I got back to the park in time to get a good spot for the afternoon parade. I was able to get a spot on a bench in the hub in the shade. After the parade I followed it to Town Square for the flag retreat. I was pleased to see a woman when members of the military went up. Next I neaded to go to my hotel. I'd changed hotels in the morning and needed to officially check in and collect my bag from the desk. After a rest I headed back to the park around 7. Back at the park I went on Splash again. I did the single rider this time and was able to walk on again. Oddly I got wetter this time around in the back than I had in the front in the morning but still not soaked which was fine now that it was dark. For dinner I went to the Plaza Inn and inspired by the recent discussion I got the chicken. It was very good and enough food to feed two. After, I was able to get a good spot in front of the castle for the fireworks. Being by myself I can generally do this without staking out a spot as early as large groups need to. This was my first time seeing Magical and I enjoyed it very much. A day spent almost exclusively on Main Street was relaxed and low key and surprisingly full. You see a lot of the things often missed. I highly recommend it.
