While DAK could use some C-D tickets, I love the Tiki Room in the Magic Kingdom. If they even gave it a decent refurb and returned it to some sort of its original form, I may have an excuse to watch the show again. But not while it's Under New Management.

To make matters worse, everytime they did so, sunlight would pour into the theater and blind the remaining audience. While the "New Management" has been soundly attacked by fans for years, I suppose that it was an attempt to keep things "fresh" and to prevent more walkouts. I think that the best way to keep it "fresh" is to bring a triumphant return of the original show especially since at least one generation has never seen it.

Count me as one who never misses seeing the Tiki Room on every trip, whether it was the original or the "New Management" show. I just don't see the "dinner show" concept working for the Tiki Room today. Even Walt saw problems with it as a dinner show when it first opened.

I'd love to see how much more realistic they could make the birds today with the latest technology.

If there is one thing that is abundant in this country today it is entitlement coupled with rude.

With the original show, it seemed like most of them left when the birds started singing "Let's All Sing Like the Birdies Sing". Apparently, DLR attracts more locals who have sentimental attachments to the attractions than WDW. Either way, these knuckleheads would rather leave an air-conditioned (reasonably) comfortable theater than sit through a 15 minute show. I don't HATE the new show as much as most seem to, but I do miss the original show and I would LOVE to hear the flowers sing the "Hawaiian War Chant" again. Oh well, there's always YouTube.

I am tired of this approach by so many hard-core Disney fans. As evidenced by the few people going in to see Lincoln in California, you need to look forward, not past.

I see the Tiki birds fairly regularly. Good sized crowds and no walk-outs. The show was tightened up with the deletion of the Barcarolle, given a loving makeover a couple of years ago, and looks and sounds better than ever. Now, if we could just get those darn kids to stay seated, it would be perfect every time!

But I'm not convinced this crop of Imagineers actually has the talent to create something as timeless as the original Tiki Room.
