It's between that "pod" of 6 rooms in the upper right corner and the rest of the building. Enter that stairwell from the 2nd floor or higher, and you pop out in DtD on the north side of that pod through an obscure service door. The door is an exit only - you can't get back into the building that way. But, if you're staying in a room anywhere to the east of the Great Hall, it can save up to 5 minutes of walking as compared to going out the official way.
