But as I always say, any trip to Disneyland is better than no trip at all.

No one really knows of course but if you love DLR and know your way around you should have a lovely time. The late nights are always fun and everything is usually running. One thing, it is usually HOT. If you aren't used to the weather, don't be surprised if you are willing to pay any price for one of those spray water bottles :)

By the way, we avoided summer months for years. 6 years ago we happened to be in the area for a wedding and thought "what the heck." There really is fun, different feeling in the summer, well maybe it's also because we no longer had little ones to worry about getting overheated, cranky times and who wants to eat where :)

All the rides are open, hanging out with 50,000 of your closest friends is insane but fun, and since we are "summer junkies" the hotter the better.

There's lots of neat places to sit in the shade to people watch and suck down a Dole Whip. The best for us???? There's NOTHING better than a warm summer night at Disneyland.

I'm planning to take my 5 sons (possibly without dad) around Aug 18-20 (Mon-Wed) and I too am hoping for less than typical summer-like crowds.

You just have to expect crowds and be smart about. But if you know you can't handle the crowds (my dad for instance) then I don't recommend it. But as you said any trip to Disneyland is better than none!
