I would skip any long weekend. Best times i have ever been was late October and mid November. The weather was still nice and great decorations. I think Early December would be a good choice if you could.

Then once Halloweentime starts it's crowded again. Mid-January to early March will be slow again, except for holiday weekends. It's tough to find a slow weekend anymore.
