Our flight left at 10:40, and we were to land home at 2:55. We reluctantly turned in our Mustang to Thrifty, and vowed to get one someday...after DD goes off to college.

Once we landed, we found our luggage in record time, called the shuttle, got to our Explorer and drove home...arriving at 4:30. Bear (our dog) sauntered up the walkway like we had only been gone for a few hours. We gave her a hug and a kiss and my Dumbo ears...she likes wearing hats.

We woke up the house sitter who was asleep in front of the tv, and went outside to the deck and regaled him with our vacation stories. He ragaled us with the story of breaking into our house because he forgot the keys, and pulling porccupine quills out of his dog all week because he's too stupid to recognize danger when he sees it.

By 6:00 the laundry was all done, and the souvineers for family and friends were packed into Disney bags and lined up in the kitchen.

At 7:00, DD and I hit the tub and turned on the jaccuzzi. Aaaahhhhhhh. I did a quick check on the blisters...still there and unpopped. DH is snoring away on the sofa, so DD and I steal the remote and turn on Court TV. I last until about 8, and then I turn the remote over to DD who wants to watch High School Musical 2 and I go to bed.

In the morning, I call the half-wits to see how their trip is going so far. The boarded the train at 8:30 saturday morning, and should pull into Pasco late Sunday. It is not going well at all...big surprise there, huh?

On the way down, they had drained the lounge car of beer. The bartender, or whatever you call him, asked them their return date, and said he would be working that run, and promised to bring more beer. Well, the refrigeration unit in the lounge car was inoperable on the way home, so the half-wits had NO BEER for the entire trip back. While talking to sis 2 about this I made sure to crack a beer nice and loud into the cel phone and tell her how sorry I was about that. Then, I chugged a big gulp, and burped loudly for emphasis. She said words that I cannot repeat here.

She asked again if we would take them back to DL next time we went. I told her that I would think about it, and that it also depended on how much they sucked up to me in the meantime.

Things I've pondered since we got home.....

Here we are, almost a week later, and I still have that raspy, Kathleen Turner quality to my voice. I kinda like it and DH says it's pretty sexy.

My blisters finally popped...at work in my shoes and socks. It was gooey and gross, but it reminded me of Disneyland.

I took 410 pictures...they were supposed to be ready yesterday, but Costco can't find them...I'm supposed to call them after 3:00 today.

With all the food and Dole Whips and ice cream and garbage cans at DL, I only saw ONE bee the whole week. I know the bee convention was in full swing at the Cove Bar, but still...

The rain barrell under my rain gutter smells JUST like POTC...I stick my head in there a lot. DD asked me what I was doing, and I told her to shut her eyes and smell. She looked at me like I was a half-wit, but she did it. "Momma, it's Pirates." Then she had DH do the same. He closed his eyes, sniffed, and broke out in a huge grin. We stood there for quite a bit, sniffing and smiling...thank God we don't have neighbors. I've spotted DH and DD just passing by on their way elsewhere in the yard...taking a quick sniff.

DD and DH pointed out that I didn't do any of my usual flight rituals, and I appeared to be comfortable in the air. They asked why. Why, you say????

I WENT ON SCREAMIN' 5 TIMES!!! I am no longer afraid to fly.

719 days until my next trip...unless I can sneak away sooner.

May the 719 days pass as swiftly as the days at the happiest place on earth did.

I had my pics put on a CD, so if Costco finds them, I will share the shot of Bear in her ears tomorrow. If not, I'll have them re-done. Thank God I didn't delete my memory card.

DLTheo...my pics are digital. I had prints done, along with the CD's.

I just wanted to say thanks for reading my incredibly long (and perhaps sometimes boring) trip report. It was fun to write, and especially fun to recall some of the things we did.

DD says she can't wait 719 days and wants to go for christmas. Maybe.......

So are you having all 410 pictures developed? We only had a couple hundred done of ours, including duplicates.

Yup, all 410 are being printed. I want some for the photo album, and some for the scrapbook. I will probably also print up some 8 x 10's at home of the really special ones.

Can you blame her...I have three trips planned within the next 100 days and I am already trying to figure out the next one...Sounds like a nice long weekend holiday trip might be fun for the Wits...I think you earned it!! Start looking at the airfair - it's been pretty good and the end of the year only opened up a couple of weeks ago!!

The half-wits have been calling this week. They finally realized that they should have taken a picture or two, and now want to snag my memory card. I think among the 3 families they MAYBE took 50 pictures.

This is as I stare at and procrastinate about the loads of laundry I need to do......and we haven't even been on vacation!

Vacation laundry is easy. We throw all of our dirty stuff in one suitcase, so all I have to do when we get home is dump the whole thing in the wash...viola. Folding it all up and putting it all away is a whole other issue.............
