Well thank goodness you put that lyric up there! I had had "Would You Like to Buy an O?" stuck in my head before but now it'll be this for a while. LOL.

Yeah, Dave - careful in the mosh pit, dearie. :p

We got to the venue 15 minutes after doors opening. Got our wrist bands for the mosh pit and the demographics were great. All ages were there, but I think the mean average age was 45. It was funny because in addition to all the long hairs and leathers, there were a lot of obviously professional people there dressed up. I wore my Monsters of Rock 2003 T-Shirt (Dogs D'Amour, Quireboys, Thunder, Alice Cooper), a pair of combats and even reconsidered repiercing my ear, but decided against that - sad huh?

And it was refreshing at a concert to see a queue nearly as long for the sinks as the toilets themselves.

The support were an Irish band called the Answer. They were really good - a very tight band that sounded like a cross between Led Zepplin, Black Crows and Thunder - they played a couple of blues numbers, and we were very impressed.

Add in the guys' long hair, some flaired jeans and opened shirts, mix in a drummer who looks like animal and some guitarists who may give Steve Vai a run for his money, and add in David Coverdale and you feel like you are transported back 25 years. Awesome.

    Or was it???!!!

So he did "Is this Love" which was brilliant.

He then said "Hold on a minute" and introduced the band. Tommy Ulrich played a cool drum solo, and then the guitarists had a solo duelfor about 10 minutes. I was in pure heaven.

What transpired was it was to buy time for David Coverdale to talk to the promoter abut options. When the solo ended, he came out and apologised, and said the rest of the concert was cancelled. They gave us our tickets back to be used on a future date or for refund. He was obviously gutted about the situation (in more ways than one).

Sadly, this is the 4th time this has happened to me - Guns and Roses, Catatonia, Motorhead and now Whitesnake - but this is the 1st time it has happened in the middle of the concert.

And if I look as half as good as an ill, 55 year old rock star at his age, I would be a happy man.
