And I am literally flabberghasted at the price difference considering I think the Ritz is a FAR FAR FAR superior hotel.
It just seems insane to me.

And obviously there are some people who disagree, hence the fact that they're getting roughly $600 a room.

I don't think they know any better. I also think that if they pulled their heads out of the mouse's butt long enough to try the Ritz Carlton Disney would be in trouble.

And no they aren't Disney. And yes, it is very nice. And the JW Marriott next door is also very nice and they had rooms at $169.
Mobile has the Grand Floridian at 3 stars now. $630/night for a 3 star? Really.

THe truth is that most middle class folks have no business staing in rooms that cost more than $100 per night.

Of course, the debt/housing bubble made it possible for ordinary folks to pretend they were big shots staying in $600 rooms, but now we are paying the price.

Regardless of the sale, they're still convincing people to purchase these rooms. If they weren't, the discounts would be deeper. If I stayed at the GF for my trip next week, it would cost me $2000 more. I'm not going to pay that, but apparently someone else will, or the hotel would be either very deeply discounted or shuttered for lack of guests.

<<I don't think they know any better. I also think that if they pulled their heads out of the mouse's butt long enough to try the Ritz Carlton Disney would be in trouble.>>

Why do some of you assume that because someone still pays good money for Disney that they're idiots? Isn't it possible that people are simply paying for a product they enjoy? Have you also ever considered the fact that there are "higher end" Disney fans that will not stay off property and want to stay in the best Disney has to offer?

Some of y'all amaze me. First, the people that stay in the values are rednecks and low class. Then, the people who pay premium money to stay at the Grand Floridian are idiots. What's wrong with people who stay in the moderates? We haven't covered them yet.
