But, if you are like me I always have more wants than rewards so emptying a rewards card is never a problem. 2 things that I have found out-1 always know what your balance is. We had one CM tell me that my card was empty and did I want her to throw it away for me. I knew that I had about $27 left on it so I took my card back and called the company which verified my balance left. 2-The strip on the back does contain some of your info so I always destroy any old empty rewards cards. I know that you can always refill them but why when they would be subject to whatever expiration date is on the card? Just order a new rewards card when you plan on going on vacation again.

That way I don't have to be careful with the card. Safetywise, the rewards card is like cash, not like a credit or debit card that you can report stolen and not lose anything. When you have it loaded up with all your rewards, you don't want it to get lost or stolen. That's why I use it all up first, as soon as I get there.
