Checked the list of games for the Trade-In promo through Gamestop. We have 2 games on the list that we are ready to get rid of, so that saves us $40 on the game! http://www.gamestop.com/gs/spe.../save40/

There is a new feature in this came called a Cosmic Guide that shows up after you die so many times. If you use the Guide, it will play the level for you and you earn a Bronze Star, but it allows you to proceed in the game. You can go back and get the regular power star when you feel your game play has improved.

Gamefly is also a good place to buy games used. The good thing here is that only the games themselves are used, the box and manual are in mint condition. They also have lower prices than most stores. For example Brutal Legend for Xbox 360 is $9.99 there. At Gamestop it's $17.99 used. Gamefly also has free shipping sales often (the last one ended in late May). I don't rent games from Gamefly but I do check out their sales from time to time.

The two versions both have a lot of training though. I would start with Mario Galaxy 1. It's cheaper now.

Incoming wall o' text A lot of these decisions that negatively impact the bottom line/the players is because of selling back games/piracy. For example EA is now going to charge 10 $ extra on games for online access. Why? Because almost all of their sports franchises get bought second hand. So now if you want to buy a used copy of NCAA Football 201X if you wan't to play online you have to pay 10$ for a code so you can play online. Many people are switching to console gaming because it's easier to get used games, and so they don't have to deal with DRM. Even so DRM continues to get harder to use (not necessarily harder to crack however)You want to play that game? Well if you are not connected to the internet to authenticate these 2 codes and make sure you arn't using a cd crack too bad you can't. Besides gamestop (the major player in this game) makes me sick. Not really related to killing the industry, but I will leave with this tale. A while back my brother finally decided he was going to buy Batman: Arkham Asylum. He had a girt card to gamestop from a band gift exchange so we went there to get it. We walked in and went straight to the counter (they usually don't keep the new games out in the store because they want you to buy a used one) So he asks for a new copy the guy asked if we wanted a used one. We refused saying we wanted a new copy. He goes and grabs a used copy and starts ringing it up, and then adds a $5 pre-order charge. My brother explained that he didn't want to pre-order anything and that he didn't bring a new copy. He explained that they didn't have any new ones. We said that was fine and started to leave. He told us not to because we hadn't finished paying for what he rung up. I told him I wasn't going to make my brother pay for a used copy and a pre-order when that wasn't what he wanted we would simply go somewhere else. He told us to hold on because he would check if they had any new ones. Turns out they had literally a box full of them. So he clears the charge and rings up the new copy...but then adds the pre-order again. Again we tried to explain that we didn't want to pre-order anything. After arguing with him we finally get him to take it off, and the new copy was 10$ less than the used version. Also beware of buying "New" copies at gamestop. Some stores (and I know this through experiencing this with my friend) let their employees "test" new games at home. They bring them back and sell them as new.
