Funny, I said to my wife today that we should take our AP's and head to Typhoon Lagoon today. She looked at me like I was crazy

When I was in WDW a couple years ago, it rained over 24" in our 10 day visit. It was the week before Memorial Day, so it would have been quiet anyway, but the parks were practically deserted. Our only wait over 10 minutes (until the Friday of Memorial Day weekend) was for the Friendship Boats in Epcot, and that was because they were only running one boat, and it had just left when we got to the dock.

After a soaking ride on the Matterhorn and a wet, then warm, then wet ride on It's a Small World, we lunched at Pizza Port. Toward the middle of the afternoon we retired to our cozy motorhome in the parking lot to nap before going back out into the tempest. Toward the middle of the evening, the storm leveled off a bit, enabling us to go on Splash Mountain. (We were as wet as we could get). In point of fact, we were able to go on just about everything except Autopia, Alice in Wonderland, the Teacups, and the Jungle Cruise. But still and all, it was a memorable trip, one I wouldn't mind experiencing again. The End.

(I apologize profusely for my obvious storytelling vernacular.)

But my last 2 WDW rain trips there was no such miracle. IT just rained and rained and rained.

I come from a rain state. I don't want to see no rain. BUT for all it cost I'm not leaving the park either.

AND WDW the pouch and the rain hot is misery. sticky....

I could not agree with you more, Trippy! I've tried the poncho thing, and I just don't like having to put it on and take it off when going inside. I usually use one of those smallish umbrellas that Disney sells, and am quite happy.

I've been through many of the brief showers that Florida is famous for. But one time a couple years back it started raining just before IllumiNations and it really really POURED! They went ahead with the show, but you could hardly even see the flame barge, and the launched fireworks were just a dim glow up in the rainstorm. So it can happen - just not that often!
