We always stay on the California/Nevada state line at the Buffalo Bill Resort. Week night rooms are only $22 and there's an awesome roller coaster the kids love to ride. I think it's another 3 hours and change once you leave Buffalo Bill's.

The kids might like a roughly drawn map with major milestones/cities they can color in to track the progress. Also, last time we went I printed out a map of the United States, gave them each a set of crayons, and had them color in the states for which we saw license plates--counts as geography school work too We aren't going this spring break, but I know of several families who are. Spring break in Utah, combined with many other spring breaks in other states, combined with Easter weekend will make for some crowds. Read up on Darkbeer's FastPass strategy and hit the parks early. Have Fun! I'm jealous and would love to go right now--I have to wait until June. Honestly, I think I'm more excited than the kids p.s. Nice to see quite a few from Utah on the boards

I though it was the 26th

We've also stayed at Primm (couldn't stay awake - we left 7 pm on a Sunday, one of those "let's go to DL, pack the car and just go" trips)." It was inexpensive, kinda run down, smokey (even in a non-smoking room), but the staff was incredible. We had a new baby and they brought us free milk (they must not know that babies don't drink milk, but it was a very sweet gesture). We've also stayed in Baker when we couldn't stay awake. Don't do that. We paid $145 for a GROSS room. And we've stayed in Vegas at DH's sister's house. That's the best place because it's clean, and there are cousins to play with. They just moved there as we are not going to DL for awhile because we're saving for WDW in Sept. Have a great trip. I love to drive. Truly. It feels like more of an adventure than flying.
