In addition to the things they mentioned, I wouldn't be entirely surprised to see the Muppets/Mamma Melrose/Pizza Planet area behind Streets of America get redone, but I also wouldn't be surprised if they kept it as-is. The article also included the CM parking garage in their potentially-redevelop-able land; while anything is technically possible, this is one of the few pieces of backstage infrastructure that really wouldn't be worth the cost of relocating. But they've still got a TON of room to play with, regardless

Most of it I had read in various places previously which is why I've been so convinced that the first major Star Wars development in U.S. parks would be at DHS. That combined with visiting DHS last fall and really taking note of what a vast amount of land was either closed, greatly underutilized or scheduled to close in the near future. Combine that with the DHS history of Star Wars special events and it is hard to imagine why anyone would think otherwise.

DHS just looks nicer, but that's it. Attractionwise DHS is now the worst Disney park worldwide.

The "backlot" areas of DHS were never intended to be guest walkways when built, so they're unwelcoming and surrounded by big boxy buildings creating narrow lifeless corridors. Although they're still pretty bland, at least the "backlot"-type areas of WDSP were always designed for guests (except that awkward walkway from Toon Studios to the tram tour) so they have wide plazas, occasional landscaping, nice paint colors, and inviting signage. Something about the design there makes it more inviting to pedestrians, even if the park isn't especially beautiful; the backlot areas of DHS these days seem to have guests scurrying from one thing to the next, feeling like they're in an off-limits area of the park that they snuck into

I know the studio days are long gone at DHS, but I still like the look of the soundstages.

Now they are suppose to break ground again in January of next year which would open the fist phase of the Cantina in 2017. The problem now is that it will interfer with Avatar's initial opening in 2017. The additions to pixar place were suppose to go in after the first phase of Star Wars land but now are progressing instead. They include a indoor version of RSR and V8 Cafe restraunt along with the expansion of TSMM. Rumor is at D23 we will see the same old coming soon boxes again as we did two years ago.

Didn't Iger mention in an interview that they had to delay SW Land, because of the delay of SW7. He feared that people might be disappointed when there's nothing from the new movie. I'm so looking forward to The Cantina. This year's Expo will be a small disappointment when it comes to Parks & Resorts. It seems only Avatarland will have a presence.

If that's the case then all the parks at WDW are already competing against one another. Seems to me that having the two parks at the lower end of the ranking launch big new attractions. I get what you're saying, but I don't see it as a hinderance to the success of each project. "They also don't want Avatar to look stupid compared to Star Wars." Why would it?
