    Anyone, on to our day...

Little X and the MrsX headed for school to drop Little X off in preparation for her bus ride to Disneyland with her kindergarten class in order to participate in the "Little Angels" Christmas Caroling program at TDL...

I was tasked with staking out a place in line for the open dash, and the MrsX arrived shortly before the park opened.

We dashed a little TOO well, since logistically we were battling Little X's school schedule. We got into the park quickly and headed for Monsters Inc, only to realize after entering the fastpass line that the return time was for 10:30 in the AM...that wouldn't do, as Little X was still backstage at that time preparing for her Disney debut, so we hopped out of the fastpass line and took in Monsters Inc ourselves on standby (a quick 15 minute wait at that early hour). I'll comment more on Monsters later.

Anyway, finished our ride and THEN the fastpass return window was an acceptable 3pm, so the MrsX hopped in line to get FP (we were still one ticket short though...ugh!), while I jaunted off to Westernland to stake out a good place at the Lucky Nugget Stage in order to enjoy Little X's upcoming performance. On my way there, I caught the Herald Brass show in front of the castle, always a nice holiday plus, and also the castle looks particularly festive this year!

After the MrsX and I rejoined, 2 MonstersInc fastpasses in hand, and sat down near the stage, we chilled out and had some snacks and awaited Little X and her Kindergarten class, who arrived onstage at 10:50 and sang their little hearts out (Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer is cute as heck in Japanese :D)...

We had another fastpass window available at 11:30, but decided to wait until we FINALLY got our hands on our kid (and her ticket!) at noon, so we could pick up three passes rather than 2 (they really should re-think that system, it's sort of a downer that parents with tons of time to kill before pickup can't go get a couple of fastpasses for the family!).

Anyway, we picked up Little X at noon and enjoyed some pizza (I'm looking at YOU, Spirit, when I say that I'm not as negative on the Disney Tokyo food scene as you are...I don't know what YOU ate, but my pizza was DELICIOUS), as was everything else I ate today, AND the portions were not ridiculously small though they WERE small to be sure...besides our pizza, we enjoyed us some turkey legs and some meat pies (from Westernland), and some tasty burgers from Tomorrowland...no sitdown restaurants were in the cards for us today, we're on a budget since Christmas is coming and Little X deserves lots of presents. ;)

So anyway, after lunch we hit Peter Pan (see rant one using links provided above), Snow White (Little X wasn't scared at all), saw some characters INCLUDING some rabbits from Bambi that I've never seen before in all my many trips into Disney parks (and even after working in them for over a decade!)...TDL rocks when it comes to unusual character sightings.

Then the MrsX and the little one took in Buzz on standby while I browsed the Disney gallery (FINALLY say Tales from the LaughingPlace! Nice work Doobie and Rebekah and Lee and Linsday!), and then Little X and I enjoyed Monsters 1 more time while the MrsX relaxed (we only had the 2 fastpasses)...

I won't bother listing all the attractions after that, we caught a LOT (Splash and Space were favorites for Little X, as was the train and Small World).

We enjoyed the Christmas Parade. Nice to see they are still doing it differently year after year, that's so nice to have something to look forward to next time around!

Let's see...it was pretty much a attraction filled day although we saw three parades all told (only watched some of Jubilation though, all three X's thought it was pretty lame...Little X LOVED the X-Mas parade and Dreamlights though...

Later in the day we took in Pirates and the Country Bears and Pinochio, and Star Tours...we finished up our day with an old classic presented in a very weird way...Captain EO. I thought it was fun but YES, very dated. Little X was actually scared by it, which was one out of only two times (the other was by some door that made noise in Toontown...go figure, she's got NO problem with Space Mountain or Splash or any other *major* thrill rides but she's freaked out by a noisy movie and a door. lol.

I guess that's just about it. Oh, and we hit Roger Rabbit later in the day too.

    We had a great time.

The cast members were, as always, fantastic.

The Christmas stuff was great, but I wonder why no Castle Show?

Other than that, we had a fantastic day, particularly a fantastic morning thanks to Little X and her friends, and we look forward to our next trip!

Well, I see you're bringing her up properly then, with great Disney taste. I share the X's tastes in parades: Jubilation - meh, skip it. Dreamights and the Xmas parade: must see.

Yet another genius marketing campaign by OLC - the number of school groups with all manner of family and friends that are coming to TDL for the caroling is incredible. I heard that one group of 25 kids brought over 250 people along with them.

Hear that noise kids? That is the sound of cash registers singing for Christmas!

Didn't I tell you she was a little angel?
    :)

<<On my way there, I caught the Herald Brass show in front of the castle, always a nice holiday plus, and also the castle looks particularly festive this year!>>

I thought the castle looked amazing. Just nice classy holiday decor ... not over the top like we often get in the USA.

I would have loved to seen her performance. But ask Little X if she can sing Rudolph in Spanish!

YOU LOOKING ME, X?!??! YOU LOOKING AT ME??!?! I'M LOOKING BACK AT YOU!!!!

Curious, where did you have pizza? I saw some that looked very good at the stand next to Peter Pan as you're headed toward Westernland, but had already had lunch at Grandma Sara's (which was good, although small portions).

As to tasty burgers in T-land, all I'll say is you had to have them somewhere other than the Tomorrowland Terrace. That honestly was the worst quick serve Disney meal I've had in many, many years. Tiny (think what McD offers in FLA for 49 cents two days a week), awful tasting, barely any topings, weird sauce ... all at an absurd pricepoint. it was the worst meal I had in Tokyo in 11 days by a mile or 10 miles!

<<So anyway, after lunch we hit Peter Pan (see rant one using links provided above), Snow White (Little X wasn't scared at all), saw some characters INCLUDING some rabbits from Bambi that I've never seen before in all my many trips into Disney parks (and even after working in them for over a decade!)...TDL rocks when it comes to unusual character sightings.>>

Yep. I love that. I'm not into the characters for the most part, but it sure is nice to see different ones.

I was in the Gallery twice and never saw a copy of Tales (might have been willing to actually buy one there) ... wonder if they were out of stock when I was there?

<<I won't bother listing all the attractions after that, we caught a LOT (Splash and Space were favorites for Little X, as was the train and Small World).>>

The kid has good taste. Loved them all. The train is a gem (I love them at all MKs) and is really unique in TDL because it only goes around and thru two lands and has the UoE dino diorama and so many REAL AA's to see.

And Splash ... that is just plain the best damn version of the attraction by far. No disgusting, stinking logs. No gum walls. Every AA works. Every effect works. You have added scenes. And, oh yeah, you don't get soaked ... or even wet when riding. Makes MK's version look like Six Flags.

<<We enjoyed the Christmas Parade. Nice to see they are still doing it differently year after year, that's so nice to have something to look forward to next time around! >>

Imagine that? They actually do different parades and shows every year or two. Do you know how long WDW and DL have been running the exact (I don't call adding the newest princess du jour making the parade new) same parade at X-mas?

<<Let's see...it was pretty much a attraction filled day although we saw three parades all told (only watched some of Jubilation though, all three X's thought it was pretty lame...Little X LOVED the X-Mas parade and Dreamlights though...>>

OK, gotta question the X's taste a bit here ... agree on the X-mas and Dreamlights parades, but I also loved Jubilation as well. They do parades right in that park.

Should I make a joke about a kid being scared of MJ? Nah, he's dead ... I won't.
I skipped EO in TDL (saw waits listed of 40-50 minutes both days) since I saw it at EPCOT in September.

<<I guess that's just about it. Oh, and we hit Roger Rabbit later in the day too.

    We had a great time.>>

    How could you not?

<<The cast members were, as always, fantastic.>>

    They sure are.

<<The Christmas stuff was great, but I wonder why no Castle Show?>>

I dunno ... but Christmas Wishes over at TDS is one amazing stage show ... but still not nearly as good as Big Band Beat's X-mas show. I swear American fanbois (and Brit Twit Tourists) have no clue what kind of entertainment they should be getting at a Disney park.

<<Other than that, we had a fantastic day, particularly a fantastic morning thanks to Little X and her friends, and we look forward to our next trip!>>

    Me too, X ... me too!!! :)
