However, when I call WDW reservations, there is availibilty for the exact dates I want.

Is there something written in the DVC contract that gives them the right to do this?

My understanding was that DVC members had first dibs on any DVC availibilty ahead of the general public.

I said that I was under the impression that DVC members got first dibs and was told no. Therefore, I'm on a wait list. BTW, to rent a studio at the BW for the time period I requested, Disney reservations charges $2800 for 6 nights.

Assuming one DVC point is roughly valued at $10 (if you were to rent it out) then $2800 is roughly double the cost of using DVC points to reserve a studio at BW villas.

I'm booked for August and November already, this was a last minute trip.

The good news is that my son and future daughter in law are cast members, so worse case, I'll get a discounted room.
