A Bambi dark ride might be interesting, but I'm not sure it has enough to fill 2 or 3 plotless minutes with interesting things to look at.

I had designed an "Enchanted Forest" subsection of Fantasyland when I was younger, that would have contained Bambi, the Cottage from Sleeping Beauty and a few other things I've forgotten. It was basically a giant indoor area made to look like you were in this huge forest. It was a walkthru area but could easily contain attractions too. Being indoor though you could have the sun coming through the trees or have a haunted forest portion or whatever. It always seemed like a good idea to me, even if these films couldn't sustain an attraction of their own, this was a way to get them represented in a themed environment.

The trains first enter Bambi's den, after the den the coaster takes turns and small drops through the forest and plains almost being trampled by riendeer. The train quickly passes the mating season then stops, the guests now are listening to audio-animatronic birds and animals whistling and singing.

The train now starts a chainlift and passes through a paoching scene. The train slowly drops and goes through a poacher camp then into a forest fire. The train stops at another chainlift in the inferno. The train begins to lift and passes by Bambi ready to jumb off the cliff into the water. The train is then thrusted down through a small waterfall and takes more turns then stops in the brake station. The train then comes to the unloading station.

There's a reason no attraction was ever made about Bambi: Disney could never get the FDA to approve mass distribution of anti-depressants to guests.

Well, unless they've changed it, poachers are basically the "villains" in DAK's "Kilamanjaro Safari". Although I don't know that I personally would greenlight this "Bambi" ride.

Then for extra profit, have a snack shack at the exit to the ride that specializes in vennison jerky, and deer burgers.

I imagine this Bambi attraction could harken back to the days of Indy and Star Tours. A full blown preshow...maybe even with a scene not included in the feature film. Similar to the director's cut of a film, Bambi fans would have to flock to see this!!!

So, here's my thought: As guests enter the queue, they see a silhouette of the Great Prince of the Forest running behind dimensional trees set in the foreground. He is running away as fast as he can. Maybe he says, "yoinks!" if the budget can afford voice talent.

Next, guests approach a deer den (maybe with a "Mrs. Bambi" mailbox out front). They hear panting, grunting, and an occasional scream. Entering the den through a side door, they are MGICALLY TRANSFORMED to the size of a small woodland creature.

As the queue spirals up a ramp to the coaster load station, guests witness as the new prince Bambi miraculously emerges from a giant audio-animatronic of Bambi's Mother--the LARGEST ANIMATRONIC EVER OF ALL TIME. Bambi is born!!! This VERY special effect could all be accomplished with the same holographic technology from the Haunted Mansion PLUS effects from Stitch's Great Escape (maybe water gags plus the chili dog smell).

Oh yeah, maybe Thumper's mom could be a midwife or something. And maybe Gopher from the Pooh films could play the doctor. He talks funny.

    What do you think?
